Just an update.

I called Jet-Hot to find out if grinding the extra weld area on the primary D-ports would mess up the Jet-Hot coating at all.

They said it won't hurt anything inside or out. They even said that the coating won't peel or chip next to where I grind on the inside of the primary. Cool!!

That's a relief. I was worried that I might screw up the coating on the outside since the inside part where I grind will get hotter than the inside parts that are coated.

Just thought that those interested in these headers might find the info useful.

No, I haven't. The reason that I haven't talked to them is because I don't know for certain if the extra weld causes any kind of power loss. It seems like it would purely from a restriction standpoint, but it's really not that big of a deal to me.

I hate to complain about that one issue when the rest of the headers and Y-pipe look so awesome.

Thumbs up

Sup all, i havn't posted here in a long time. Some people might still remember Paul Barry from back when he was doing the ceramic coating. Anyway, just some food for thought if you'd like to see a before and after pic..

I took these pics before and after i purchased a set of 9 month old Mac headers a few years ago from a member of camaroz28.com. Just look at the pics and you'll know what i'm talking about...

Mac headers before and after ceramic coating.

aesthetics alone are a good reason to get them coated. Let alone the long life and low temps. Good pics

I installed my Jet-Hot coated MACS way back in june. They look awesome and the SOTP power increase is awesome. These headers are well worth the money!
