...thats the way I feel also, r/e if the performance is there thats what counts! In fact I would have probably not even mentioned the bad welds if not for the fact that someone else brought it up. I'm just JEALIOUS because the headers aren't going on my car!!! I would just grind the welds down and install 'em. They are BEAUTIFUL headers! You don't really see ANY beautiful welds on ANY production parts. And you know what? It really doesn't matter as you can't even see the spots and there is NO way in the world those welds will break nor leak. Good luck with the install! When are you putting them on? I'll bet you get an addrinilin rust just lookiing at them, huh? Bill...

{I spelled addrinilin wrong, huh? remember, I didn't say I could spell, I said that I could WELD....

Yes, the MAC Off-Road pipe will bolt directly to the MAC y-pipe, and the "Cat-Back". It's flanged on each end. I used MACs supplied "starter tube" for my new cat. Now I can swap back and forth between the 2 in a very short period of time.

Gotta go through emissions = Catyletic converter.
Gotta go racing = Off-Road pipe with cut-out.

So the starter tube isn't connected in any way to the y-pipe so you can use it anyway you want?

That's correct. In the first picture, you can see it right after the Y-pipe.

Frank,

Where did you buy the MAC ORP? I don't see it on the MAC website.

I may pic one up to replace the CAT when I feel like running CAT-less.

Is it the correct length to bolt up between the Y-pipe and a '94-'95 style cat-back systems, like a Hooker cat-back?

Thanks.

The headers come with a starter pipe to weld to your cat. If you purchase a MAC off-road pipe, it will bolt in-between the y-pipe and the front flange of whatever exhaust you are using. When I got my system, I got a MAC Highflow cat, which bolted in to the same spot (I have emissions testing, and the old cat was trashed). Mine uses the MAC y-pipe with the stock manifolds, but those headers are looking D**m good. I may have to go for them.

The ORP and Cat are listed on Speed, Inc.'s website Speed Inc

Whats the big dilema here? Those are darn nice headers. Just install the darn things. Whatever you do, don't **** Jet-hot off before I get my set

No, it's not Jet Hot he should complain to, they did a great job. It's MAC. And they ARE nice headers, I want some too, I'm jealous!!!

Before I go complaining to MAC, I'd like to see pics of other headers so that I can compare my welds to those. What do other header welds look like? Anyone with pictures of the D-ports on the Hooker, Jet-Hot, AS&M, rksport, or SLP headers?

This really isn't a huge deal to me. I'll grind the inside down. I've heard of others doing it before also, so I know it's been done before on other headers.

And Yes, Jet-Hot did a FANTASTIC job on the headers.

I cant find the ORP on Mac's site or Speed Inc. Is there a special one needed for 93s?

The MAC part # is 49395. It lists for $100, but I paid substantially less.
