What is it you don't know what is? Every LT1 block has numbers stamped on it that tell what year it is.
I checked with some B-body guys and they said it's an LT1. Also checked some casting numbers and 327 appears on LT1s only.... So I guess you're lucky that you didn't get the same engine as indicated on your receipts.
Now to figure out what year it was.... Is the optispark vented or non-vented? Do you know what care it came off of? (Impala, Caprice, Roadmaster, Fleetwood, etc)

Here's a good page for identifying the differences in the LT1's:
Automotive Rebuilder
"327" is the last three numbers of the LT1 block part #. Info from above page:

BLOCKS
350 - There are two blocks, one with two-bolt mains and one with four-bolt mains. They both have the same 10125327 casting number, so there’s no sure way to know which one you have until you get the pan off. However, if it came out of a Corvette, it should be a four-bolt block, and if it came out of anything else, it was supposed to be a two-bolt. GM used the two-bolt block for everything but the Corvette because it had plenty of strength and it weighed a little bit less.
265 - There was only one block used for the 265 cid version of the LT1. It’s a 10168588 casting that had the numbers "4.3" cast on the side, too. It’s real easy to spot if the heads are off because of the small 3.74" bore.

well I guess that halts all fears I had that I might have gotten screwed with a 4.3. I was wondering why the caprice motor was only $800 and the "camaro" motor was $1600. Maybe they thought they had a 4.3 and didnt wanna tell. When I got it I thought all LT-1s were 350s
btw thanks, I like that site and read the whole article about the LT-1 and Lt-4. Makes me know I got a late 94 350 not a crappy 265. I was thinking if I did get one I was going to stroke a 350 block but not even the heads fit! Geez what a ruff thing to do to us out here in the real world
