Fronnt crank seal replacement

I'm going to replace the front crank seal this weekend. Is there anything else, like other gaskets etc., that I will need when I replace this. I dont know what all needs to come off before this, like maybe something else with a gasket that should be replaced at the same time.

Thanks alot

Yes, while you are pulling your seal out....make sure you replace mine too, it leaks oil

There are no other gaskets needed. If you had other leaks, more stuff would have to be removed to get to them.

Re: Fronnt crank seal replacement

Most of the time it is oil coming from water pump or opti seal, and going down to look lik it is front crank seal. Get the same diameter as crank seal exhaust pipe from any parts store ($3), it will save you lots of time tapping the seal in. Also you will need a gasket puller, the old gasket is kind of impossible to remove without one. Hope this helps

Another vote that your leak is coming from the waterpump seal!

Re: Fronnt crank seal replacement

The front of my intake was leaking and the oil was running down to the crank. Just another thought.
