Found a complete engine for cheap
Found a complete engine for cheap
Found a guy locally selling a complete engine out of a '93 Vette for $250. Here's what's wrong: The engine overheated and he replaced it with a used one in his vette. All he knows is "it's blown". I called the guy and he really doesn't know anything about the engine. I asked him if he's at least tried to put a wrench on the crank and see if it turns; he hasn't.
The engine is complete from intake to oilpan. I'm thinking it's a $250 gamble plus the cost of a machine shop checking out the heads and block. But I guess I might be able to break even by Ebaying the intake, fuel rails, and other parts if it comes down to it, but then I'd be left with a boat anchor....on the other hand, if everything checks out good (no cracks anywhere), then I got a hell of a deal.
Opinions? Should I go take a look?
