Question E3 spark plugs

Does anyone have experience with these . I have a set in my formula. The engine is stock and In good condition. I'm wondering how many miles they may be good for. Is there a certain change interval for these?

Re: E3 spark plugs

Don't think you'll find too many people using them. No advantage with the E3 plugs, maybe worse than a conventional single ground strap plug, due to spark shrouding. See post #2 in this thread:

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/for...-plugs-885236/

E3 gives them a 100,000 mile/5 year warranty. A quality set of iridium plugs (e.g. NGK) will last 100,000 miles or more.

Re: E3 spark plugs

Sounds like good advice to me. I will be changing them out before the driving season starts and report back with weather or not I notice a difference. Once again, thanks for the input. Any thoughts on how long the original cap and rotor may last. It's kind of a big job to pull it off just to check the condition. I pulled it about 2 years ago to put lock tight on the screws and change the infamous leaky W/P and it still looked good. The engine has about 90,000 on it. It doesn't get driven hard like most camaros.

Re: E3 spark plugs

Opti is a crap shoot. There are original units that have gone over 200,000 miles. My 94 (which I bought brand new in 94) Opti lasted 60,000 miles before it started acting up. But problem wasn’t cap/rotor. It was the optical cam position sensor, that was so full of rust that it blinded the optical light transmitter/receptor elements. In general, the 93/94 unvented units are more susceptible to rust and moisture issues, than the vented 95-97 units. Unfortunately, you can only put the unvented unit on a 93/94 with major changes - cam, timing set, timing cover, vacuum harness and short Opti harness. Or you could get an MSD vented cap/rotor.

If there are problems with the optical sensor, you will start to see trouble codes DTC 16 and 36. Problems with the cap/rotor will results in misfires. You'll know when it’s time for a change,

Talking Re: E3 spark plugs

Just finished changing out the e3s for set of ngk iridiums. Not a fun job but way easier than when it had headers on it. I definitely feel a difference. Those plugs were worth every penny i paid. The old plugs were worn that may be part of it. I am impressed with the way it runs now . Injuneer definitely knows the lt1. I wouldn't recommend e3s even for a lawn mower. They didn't last 30,000 miles.
