few friends of mine do the trek from tampa, FL to Atlanta, GA for the Fbody Gathering and havent had any tranny related problems, one has a 3400 stall and the other a 3600 i believe. they do have tranny coolers though.

Stall is irrelivant in a lock-up converter, because when in lockup, the converter "locks", which makes it 1.1.

Well mine seems to be crazy or something because all i do is high rpm even in overdrive my overdrive wont go into a low rpm because of the stall i guess hell im doing 3000+everywere if not higher and it wont start to pull unless it gets to 4000+.

did you buy a lockup converter? or a non lockup converter? sounds like for whatever reason if it is a lockup, the trans isnt locking the converter.

Well i just got that converter 2mouths ago and the trans i got 6mouths ago and when i first got the tranmission. I had a 2300 and it shifted hard and smooth and then i put the 3200 in it and it ran almost as if it stilll had the 2300 in it cause overdrive would engage hard and i could go 75 and be doing almost 2500rpm but last weak it just started this whole new thing were in goes into overdrive but at 70 now im doing 3000rpm and maybe i can get 2900rpm or 2800rpm but everything is 3000.

With my lock-up converter, I cruised at 2300 RPM at 60 MPH, in O'D with 4.10 gears and 26" tall tires. With my non lock-up converter, I still only cruise at 2500 RPM. Lock-up will usually only drop RPM 200-300 RPMs.

I have made the trek from Maine to Norwalk Ohio three times with my 3600 stall converter. It is also 100 miles one way from my house to the track.

I have a manual lockup switch mounted next to my seat. When I get on the highway and get into a steady speed in fourth I lock it up. You have to be careful however because you need to unlock it when you slow down or it will stall.

So i take it that you dont have a lock up converter or do you and with this you can have this switch to control were ever you wont it to.
