Re: Custom low mount setup PS and ALT

Do you have any links or pic to the pulley that you have in mind. You also have to remember that the 3 bolts that hold the balancer on are not all equal distance apart. If you are looking for a direct fit part it must be a LT1 UD pulley.

I have not seen one on a car so that is why I am trying to figure out what your idea is.

I kind of link the LS1 style pump since the resivour is so small and on top of it deleting more plumbing on the car.

Why are you going UD route and not stock sizes? Are you looking for more HP/TQ for the record?

Re: Custom low mount setup PS and ALT

March makes a piggy back style for the LT1 and ASP does too, I am sure there are plenty others out there that do too, pix can be found with a search easily.

The only reason I would go UD pulley route is to retain the PS and Alt. I have no other use for the pulleys during racing b/c we pull the belt on all runs now, it has shown to be worth a tenth or more. I would still probably pull a belt with a 2 belt set up at the track but with the PS still there I could remove the factory ACC bracketry and mount the alt low and still run 17" fronts on the car for the street days. and that is why I have not removed the PS/etc just yet b/c I like the ease of turning on the street. even with skinnies, low speed turns are a bit tough....

I do think the UD pulleys work on these cars but decided not to run one on this 97, now the 94 i had i put an ASP balancer/pulley (it replaced the stock balancer) and belt removal did not show any improvements, so that tells me that they do work...

Re: Custom low mount setup PS and ALT

Had the car running today and issues at all with any of the accessory pieces.

I ended up using a pump off of a SSR since that I what my buddy had laying around and it was virtually the same except some holes were threaded as our stock pump is not also this pump is capable of using an attached resivour which I did not have at the time so I cannot comment if it will fit based on how I have it mounted. I am using the stock remote mount for the time being.

Still not much seat time with the new engine and setup since it does not like the new cam.

Re: Custom low mount setup PS and ALT

Had everything running and up to full revs. Took it to around 6500 and no problems belts stay on and no slippage that I can tell. New alt is providing more than enough amps and the new PS pump works mint.

Tune time for me.
