I need to change my starter on my Z28 and I never done it before. Do I need to take loose the exhuast to complete the job or is it a way around it? Also I have never taking off an exhaust before. Can Anyone help?

Re: Starter Problems Also

i dont know if you have stock manifolds or not or a4 or m6, but anyways, when i changed my starter on my car (when it was stock) it just disconnected the battery, took wires off the starter and kinda twisted and cussed and flopped it around up there until it about fell on my head. they do come right out when you find the trick. i changed one on my neighbors 93 Z and i had it out on the ground by his feet in less than 10 minutes including jacking up the car and getting tools ready. you shouldnt have to take anything extra off except the torque converter cover (if your car is auto) which is like 4 10mm bolts.
