Right now the block is up by you somewhere getting roller cam bearings installed.(got scared of the 780# spring pressure with them 1.8's on the street) Had one cam brg failure and that was enough.
Car is pretty much done, well the big stuff. There are a few nit picking things to do,but I nit pick all the time, especially when one is expected to run over 130 in the quarter on motor. Yea it's a STREET car with tags and insurance for those that don't know. It has air, power steering and power seat's and power windows and stereo and tinted windows.
We are going to get a T350 so we can bust on it with about 300HP of hose then it should run where I want it and not what a 3700lb car should run like. It should run in the mid to bottom 9's,maybe. Just might put some training wheels on IT so we can leave on the hose.

A bracket racer is what would be needed, Abarre's car is prime example. Someone that logs everything looking for that last little bit of consistancy.

Re: Criticize my next setup...

I was really looking for someone that has the "typical" set of stage II AI heads so we can compare out stage II heads. I know we can both spend more time and $$$ making stuff better but most wanna know the difference in these two set ups.

I guess Ricks car will work. Anyone have a phone # they can PM me? As long as AI or Rick says that these are the standard 190 CNC heads, I have no problem sending him heads and intake fior this swap. I am about 5 weeks behind and it would not be right to skip the customers in line but I'll get a set in line for him and we can do this.

We can just use the same cam to eliminate variables. I just need to know what springs and set up ht is used along with lift so we do not coil bind.

2 years ago and even 1 year ago, I would be considered the best "bang for the buck" over AI. I know my stuff has improved greatly over the last 6 months and even more in the last few weeks. We just need to see if it is the best "bang for the buck" or the best "bang" all together at a lower price.

If Rick is game, we will know in about 6 weeks.

Wouldn't it be fun to also change cams to the appropriate LE grind after the head swap test (with same cam) is done? It might make an interesting freelance magazine article.

I think we AI customers pay the extra $$ just so we don't have to see our cam specifier get into silly internet pissing contests.[/QUOTE]

so I guess you are the cam specifier for AI?

Re: Criticize my next setup...

The Impalas mentioned wewre bracket guys also and the heavy weight and high to mid 11 ET's are more related to what most of the readers of this board have.

Just think, the "high velocity" AI port would just "have to" work better on these cars since anything over 191 cc just kills all low end TQ and makes the cars accelerate slow. You should take that advantage and run with it.

Heck, I'll do heads for Rick and 96 Capricemgr can send his heads and an AI intake to any one those Impalas to have even more info to work with. We do not even have to wait 6 weeks for these results. These are running cars with my "typical" $1300 LE2 heads (with Ferrea 6000 valves and bee hives). It would be cool to have the price on the AI heads used on each set up and a list of the valve trane parts included.

Dude, you boys better do well over 130 in the 1/4 with that puppy. I don't care if the big kid is in the thing at the time!

lol, no comment there. Sorry I had to say that. FWIW I'd take the camshaft bet with ANYBODY.

As for the Impy stuff, Stumpys setup would be a good place as any. Guy is out running solid roller strokers with his little ole 354 with a LE2 package in it.

Funny Ai is aware of this thread yet they have the class and tact to stay out of an internet pissing match.

While I agree w/ you, it’s also funny how supporters of a “certain camp” can’t seem to promote their “vendor of choice” without bashing others (whom they’ve probably never had business with). It seems like the only people bashing LE and BRE are the people who haven’t tried their products. Their customers seem to be more than please. Maybe it’s just jealously, stupidity, immaturity…I don’t know, but it really ruins this board.

Good luck with your setup Kurt!

That's an interesting advertisement, er, observation. I've been reading this forum for about 3.5 years and following head/cam development in particular, and I can't recall anybody ever being unhappy with Lloyd and his work. All I see posted from Lloyd's customers is that their expectations are met and exceeded.

Can't take a little heat from a pissing match about cars? Stay out the kitchen....

But no, they'll just send you an unsolicited E-mail when you make a post in this forum that you are looking into a competitor's heads...

This is from your "non sponsor"

Dude Lloyd was pushing his products and doing the same **** long before he was a sponsor so don't even go there. I had a similar email from him years ago before he was a sponsor and i went with Ai.

Re: Criticize my next setup...

I guess my point is, Ai is not so "innocent" themselves... don't try to make them look like angels when they actually dropped sponsorship and continued to send E-mails through the forum.

Back when they were still sponsors they were just as involved in the ****-slinging...

Do both companies have a good product? Most likely... I'd honestly like to see more example car timeslips out of both fields. I hope to have some respectable times up later this year, that aren't plagued with problems like my shakedown run. That being said, I broke 11's and gained 5 mph over my cam only setup, on just a shakedown run that was plagued with problems.
