Coolant temp sensor help?

Ok well for some reason I dont know if I keep getting bad sensors or what. But I had a bad coolant temp sensor (the one in the water pump) and I replaced it and it read fine. Then bout a week later I go to check it again and it was reading off again. Any reasons you guys can think of as to why this is happening? Oh, and the car has just been sitting there, it hasnt been driven so I dont see how they can go bad just sitting there...

What brand? If you bought an AC Delco one i dought it is bad and maybe your checking it wrong. The connection could be the problem. Check it first to be sure it is not bad. How are you getting your readings?

How did you "check it"? Are you watching the coolant temp with a scanner?

Yea I am using a scanner to check it. I think I will check the resistance of it and see if it matches up. But the last 2 sensors that went bad the resistance was messed up on them. But yet they were fine when I put them in.
