I currently have a coil from hypertech, as some of you know i have been having a starting issue (no start at all) fuel preassure is good ext, so i went and tested the module its good, all wiring has been fixed and there are no shorts or breaks anywhere, I did get a weird test from the opti on the 1-4 scale for ac, went 2.5 v to 1.4 to 0. 7 constant. So anyways i decided ok ill take the coil off and test it anyways, ive had it 2 years. Its a hypertech 53k volt coil. The primary was 0.3 (right on spec) and the primary to secondary came back as 9002. ohms or 9.2k ohms on my meter. So the spec says for stock coil 5k to 7k in chiltons. I would not see how a aftermarket coil would be higher? So i called them and they are sending me a new one under warranty. I hope that i can find the spec for the hypertech one as i have e-mailed them and am waiting for a response. I called there tech line and the guy had no idea lol. I will know soon enough.
