i had a big converter, frank has a dinky 1. so did you initially lash out because Frank had some forsight to remove a slight amount of weight and get tires that will hook? all im starting to see are excuses and no factual reasons for the claim you initially made.

goo old cz28.com dyno/bench racing at it best i guess.

You said my car was not impressive, but by looking at what I have compared to him I would say my car ran VERY impressively. BTW you said he was giving up mph with his headers and I had the same headers on my car! I would say my responses are fairly factual. Actually I lashed out before because I have argued with this guy in the past. He seems to think that his car is some kind of beast and would always talk about how unusually fast his car was. And passing emissions with a 305 is no biggie, any car running right should pass with that cam. I put the 305 in my car in place of the 306 and passed emissions(yes on the dyno) easily. The car barely put out any emissions. It is a fact that his car is set up to hook and produce quick times. To the guy saying that I should be comparing DA's, I am in AZ and I would bet the DA was higher where I live.

I'm going to back up Frank on this one. His car runs very well for it's setup. Full weight, MAC headers, babyish CC305 cam. 12.05@112 is pretty dang respectable. Especially considering it's through an A4 that the trap speed is being had. I will say that the heads have a lot to do with it. Fact of the matter is that his car runs well with it's setup. I don't see anyone else running an A4, small convertor, full weight, CC305/ported head, and Mac header combo to his times. I'm sure with a bit more practice that short time would come down too and put him into the 11's.

Kreinmc, your car is no slouch either. Your trap speeds show that. Some practice on the launches will get you down into the 12's easy. But you're trying to compare your car to Franks when there isn't really a comparison. He's set up for drag racing more than you.

This is getting almost as old as the old 03 Cobra VS. 02 F-Body topic. Apples and oranges.

Can't we all just get along!

Thats exactly what I am saying. He is set up for ET's more so than I was. I would expect him to run better times with what he has. I never said his car was slow.

IMO a car that is setup to hook would be something like mine, aftermarket suspension,9" rear,BIG converter, etc etc etc.

a stock suspension car isnt setup to hook on the track, period. yeah he had good tires, and gears, but that converter is anything but big.

i said it isnt impressive cause it doesnt ET,no MATTER how it's setup. my bolt on car with mostly stock suspension was well into the 12's and that was before i started taking serious weight out,and the big converter. i dont consider BIG mph impressive,ET is what matters to me. Granted those Supra's that can post 140+ in the 1/4 are somewhat impressive, but going mid 10's to low 11's with that mph isnt.

it's all in what you want,if you like the mph thing, enjoy. i like crossing the line before the other guy,and mph isnt the way to do it.

Nope he is not setup for the track at all. Like I said my car had 150k on it, so yeah it did have a lot of miles on it. And I am sure the nitrous did not help the aging process.
...ANY place, or any trip you'd like to take the cars on, I'll go right along with you.
The point is STOP WHINING! You're a second slower...PERIOD!

How many more excuses are you going to make for being slower?

My car went 12.82 with a completely stock 93,000 mile engine with exhaust manifolds, stock TB, stock injectors, etc.! That's STILL QUICKER than your CC306 car!

My point remains...If you pull up next to me at a stop light and we throw $200 down. I'm taking your money. That's a fact, no matter how much you whine!

LOL, that is a classic quote Frank. You might have to put that one in you sig

Kreinmc, I have been in Franks car and raced it myself actually. I remember a day before he had heads and headers when I jumped into that car, threw it in drive and raced it at Cecil with his little converter. I still clicked off a 12.87 in it. Trust me when I say the car is deffinately not "set up for drag racing". Nothing on the suspension has been touched. Yeah he slapped on some tires and a set of gears to help. But I would hardly call it a race car. How many race cars do you know who turn on the A/C on the return road

BTW, I'm the cc305 friend of Franks. Frank went with that cam after seeing how well my car performed on an emissions legal cam. Stock heads and a ton of 11 sec time slips in the glove box. My car has since taken the plunge to "race car". But Frank has come within .1 of my best with a smaller converter and heavier car... I call that impressive.

Way to go Frank... Maybe next time I am down at Cecil we can trade cars and race
