3rd gen to 4th gen

Hi everyone, just swapped a 99 BMW M3 with 167,000 for a 95 Z28 convertible with 62,000. LT1 with M6 trans. Car is nearly perfect, dash cracked and check engine light after warm up, nothing major. Really enjoying this resource, and hope to contribute and not just ask for help. Multiple 3rd gen cars (4 Firebirds and a Camaro) but this time I decided to go 4th gen after some advice from guys on 3rdgen.org who basically said 4ths are just way faster cars. Was going to try to get an LS1, but the Z in question just was too nice to pass up.

Re: 3rd gen to 4th gen

LOL, it was a great car. Up until someone ran into the back of me at 75 mph on Rt 283. I gave them lots of time to stop, she was apparently texting and just proceeded to hit me full on, pushed me up into a jersey barrier. I had good space front and back, in fact never came close to touching the person in front of me. Was a beautiful car. A month after I got it I blew a head gasket, not pushing it hard, it just went. Had it replaced, it was a sheared bolt, apparently someone used the same bolts after doing something to the heads and it just let go. Insurance gave me $6500 for it, I bought a 2000 Firehawk as it's replacement. It's pretty nice too, but I still miss the loud, convertible, low miles Camaro. Not sure what I will do next.

Nice upgrade. Hopefully you came out of the crash with no serious injuries.

Better luck with this one!

Sorry to hear about your loss. But hey, your still here to talk about what happened and that's all that matters. Cars can always be replaced. Both cars looked amazing! Little more Hp with the LS1 now.
