Car is cranking but won’t start

I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right forom if I’m not I apologize I bypassed my security by cutting and connecting the yellow and purple wires together now my car will crank but won’t fire if I spray staring fluid it will fire on that but as soon as it’s not there it does again I checked the fuel pressure and I’m getting around 50 lbs to the check valve on the fuel rail I’m not really sure what to try next this is my first project car any help is much appreciated my car is a 1995 camaro z28

Post car model info and background on your initial trouble (including any trouble codes you have). You have only bypassed one part of the security system. There are two. The second one allows fuel delivery.

You didn't supply any information about a trouble code scan, but you should probably read this to familiarize yourself with the system:
4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech-PassKey/VATS

Bypass information is in the text. The second part requires reprogramming the PCM or adding a bypass module.

He's asking if you have scanned the PCM (computer) for any diagnostic codes. You hook an OBD-1 scanner up to the DLC connector under the dash, by your right knee, and see if there are any diagnostic codes. One of them is DTC 46, which sets when the PCM does not receive the 50Hz fuel enable signal from the theft deterrent module (DTM)..

Re: Car is cranking but won’t start

YOU NEED A SIGNATURE.

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/lt1...nature-879835/

We need at least the year of the car and the model. We can ASSume you have a Z28 from your screen name, but there are people here who have Mustang models in their screen name. There are people here who are putting LT1 engines in other cars like Jaguars.

My response ASSumed you have a 1994 or 1995. Any other year can have a difference in what is required to pull the codes, and what the codes mean.

The instructions for adding a “Signature” are in the thread I linked.

To find your old post, on any page find and click on your screen name, very top right corner. In the drop down, click on “My Profile”. In the profile click on the “Statistics” tab. When that openx, click on “Find all posts by Spencerz28”.

I'm only trying to make it easier for people to help you.
