Re: Cam or Spray?
IMO if you are going to mod your LT1 you should cam it. Nitrous requires refills and I think its a waste. If you are going for a cam as big as you just said, you should make sure your top end matches up with that cam to produce its potential HP. Otherwise, everything will be mis-matched and wont run as effectively. Sure it will sound sweet, but you cant just slap something on and expect to see all the gain from that.
Re: Cam or Spray?
When my car was running 13.40's, a 75 dry shot put me at 12.25 @ 112. That was with a stock cam and no headers. That cam you are thinking about is way too big!!!!!!! These roller cams don't need near the same durations that flat tappet hydraulics need to make power. I now run nearly the same numbers NA with a fairly mild cam and basically no stall.
Re: Cam or Spray?
Chrism is right. The roller cams dont need near the same durations as the flat tappets. The cam that you are asking for sounds like its powerband is around 2600-7000 or higher. The lift as well as the duration of the cam sounds like an extremely aggressive cam, maybe too aggressive. Are you a daily driver? I wouldnt suggest this cam on a daily driver.
Re: Cam or Spray?
if you have head work and intake work done then get the cam becuse if you have ported the intake and heads your still chocking the engine with the stock cam it seems like the best cam for the lt1 is the comp cams cc306. atleast thats the general cecious.
