Bought A cam based theory any realworld exp.
Im getting ready to put it all back together. someone suggested i use 1.6 rr. This pic is from compcam's website, they suggest using 1.5's. Which one is better and which kind valve springs should i use. ( how about these, COMP Cams Valve Springs
Valve Spring, Dual, 1.430 in. Outside Diameter, 344 lbs./ in. Rate, 1.150 in. Coil Bind Height,)

i guess my real question is, to use this cam what else should i change if anything? Will the benefit of RR and new springs, out-weigh the cost. Stock LT1 58cc heads w/ 135k miles on them. Also this is an investment car, not my dream build.
You definately want to change your valvesprings... Stock springs are barely capable of handling a stock cam. You want to go with 1.6 RR's since you're lacking a little bit of lift on that cam. Ideally you would have gone with something with a little higher LSA as well. You can use this cam and I would think it would be better than stock, but I would really think about selling this one and buying a cam that's a little better suited for the application. I would suggest going with a custom grind, there aren't a whole lot of off the shelf cams for turbo applications. You might be better off with something like a single pattern cam with a little bit higher LSA. A single pattern 224* with a 114 LSA or something similar would probably be a better match.
