i found this on shoebox site about the ignition switch
" The most noted and tell-tale symptom I have seen regarding switch failure is that the the gauge cluster goes dead. When it goes dead, the engine dies as well. This is because the ignition switch also powers a section of the pcm necessary for engine function, plus the fuel pump and some other things. What usually happens is that the switch contacts become worn out or burnt up and make intermittent or no connection. When mine was dying, it even cut off a couple times while driving"
ok i have those symptoms...but when u say the "the guage cluster goes dead" do u mean the guage lights and everything doesnt work.....cuz i still get lights ...all the lights that come on b4 u actually crank the car over
