Nah, I bought a house. I might need to get a ring for my girl friend sometime soon. Its very discouraging to think it would take me forever to save up for new parts now with a 15yr Mortage. This Camaro has been one of the worst investments I've ever made. I bet I have 30k+ in a car I might be able to get 6k out of. I think its best to quit spending money on the car. If I do have any money to spend I should spend it on something that might appreciate like my 69 Mach 1 or my assault rifles.

I've never looked at my Z28 as nothing more than what it is - a huge discouraging money pit. My Chevelle will have some return on investment, but late model stuff is rarely worth anything, and you're right - your car is worth more in parts than whole.

Cars arent an investment. Well, it's only an investment for the soul. The only
way it can be an investment is if you save it for a very long time. Folks have
literally offered 30K for the Buick while cruising around (you know, they ask
for you to stop, talk about the car, then make an offer). It's crazy to think we
spent $2-3K on a car way back when, new, and now, can be worth 10x as much.

Being a happy owner of three assault rifles myself, I would have to agree.

To me they are. I have a 69 Mach 1, 428cj car I restored in the late 90's before the boom hit. I have about 20k in a car that would sell for 50-60k easily. I spent $5 on an engine fan I could sell for $6-800 now. I bought an air cleaner for $350 that I could easily sell for a grand. I'm one of those guys that see's someone dump $30k into restoring a car thats only worth 15k when its done and think WTF? I don't plan to sell the car or the parts but its nice to know that I did something wise with my money.

2000GTP - I think I enjoy the rifles more than anything. I have 1 AR, 1 M14 and another AR lower I'm going to build. I think if I get a decent tax return I'm going to get another M14. Also if the govt. puts a ban on them the value should go up considerably.

I would love to get an M14, the SOCOM version. Right now I got two ARs and an AK-47. The one nice thing about the firearms is that they do hold a good resale value. The Camaro on the other hand...

Agreed. As I (sort of) mentioned, the older a car gets, the more value it will
retain and will eventually appreciate in value. (I attempted to state that in
my second sentence which got snipped). And certainly, the more rare a car
is, and desirable, the more folks are willing to throw their money at.

I was making a comparison to our "later model" f-bodies. There's no way we
would get an appreciated value for them, as compared to an older, desirable car.

I checked out Lloyd, TEA, PP and a few others before going to AI. Last I heard this was a free country and consumers had free will. Why does every LE or AI thread have to turn into a Red V/S Blue debate?

It seems that people can't accept the fact that I gained power when I made the switch. They were all anxious for the results, then when they weren't what they wanted to see they started crying and making up BS.

personally i am happy you made more power, good for the colective good of the sport as far as i am concerned. but for people to say LE is junk because YOU made more power with AI is ridiculous, wether your problem was caused by you, or by the machining work done your set of heads had problems. and you not only switched heads but cams also so how can you properly test a gain from heads when cams were switched as well.

and for people to judge how a head performs by the way it looks.... true keyboard cowboys to say the least

Who's saying I didn't gain power from Ai's cam? It's part of the equation so its possible they designed a better cam than my old one.

What he said.

Without fail, a thread about AI is started, then someone with LE stuff comes in and talks about what they have or vice versa and all hell breaks loose.
