What are your cam specs? And what does your car trap?

And I hardly call that a pass since I got out of the gas for about a second after the clutch was slipping. When the track opens back up I'll post some real times, not some garbage half pass.

I see you are avoiding the question again like usual. My LE heads trapped the same as my old heads in 1500 feet lower d/a, must be that miracle LE work that helped me achieve that awesome goal.

Avoiding what question? You also had problems that only made u dyno around 400rwhp with the LE setup right? Wasn't it valve float? You can say anything you want, bash/praise whatever. Anybody that can read can see all the differences in your setups and come up with their own conclusions. I have my own conclusion and what you say now won't change that.

Javier,
You know beyond a shadow of a doubt you are one of the very few exceptions. Your car is extremely impressive.

I made 405rwhp @ 6300 which according to bret is where it should have peaked.

And what differences are you talking about? Me going for LE heads to AI heads. Or how about me going from a ported intake to a stock intake? My new setup sure has a huge advantage over my old one. Not to mention I had a loose rotor on my opti causing a miss, but of course that had no affect on power. I guess my oil pan magically gained me 30rwhp expecially considering I'm running thicker oil.

I don't want to fight either, but your post is off base. Do you have any idea how much the CNC machine at Ai cost? As far as CNC machines go, the one they have is one of the best in the world. I saw their machine first hand, and I also saw the manufacturer at PRI last year. It's mind blowing to think of how precise and fast it is. It's also only one weapon in their arsenal of high end high quality equipment. A lot of time and effort has gone into port & cam design over there. I think the only way to calculate the cost cutting is to measure it in terms of machine hours saved per unit. I also think, judging by the results thus far, it's safe to say their master port is not only better, but the one to beat.

Ron and Phil are honest and fair. If you send them a butchered set of heads, they will tell you honestly weather or not it's worth fixing. Some companies will take just about anything, make unrealistic promises, do the work, and then find a reason to blame the customer for any problems (either reliability or performance). I know it sounds like a story we have heard here before, but I assure you those types of stories are not limited to the board members here. Other than the most basic service work, I don't work with anyone in the Cleveland area anymore. Unfortunately, it's a common practice in the engine building/ head porting world. This community is very lucky to have a professional shop with high end professional equipment willing to offer premium products at prices that are competitive with other companies who can't even come close to the quality. It's sort of like comparing canned beef to a prime filet, they are both meat, they will fill your stomach, but the similarity ends there.

I have been in the car game for many years, and I have been robed by too many shops, part manufacturers, and tuners to list without raising my blood pressure. Remember, the most expensive projects start out on paper as the cheapest.

It is amazing Speed Demon could ever get setup to seal.

The differences I speak of are nothing more then inconsistancies. I don't know if you paid attention to your previous setup, again nor do I care. Listen man, its nothing specifically against you but I have enough evidence to believe that some of the problems you had previously were at minimum partially your fault. Either that or its just a fluke that you had as many problems as you did. I don't know the specifics of what made your car make 25rwhp more this time, could be different dyno, larger cam etc....I am not disputing you made more power. All i see is you bashing, which makes me think you have an ulterior motive here. Go to the track and pick up 3mph in the same or very similar DA and settle it.

I have problems with people calling a liar or blaming something on me that was confirmed by 2 seperate and independant shops to be the fault of the machine work. I don't like being screwed over so yes I do take it personally. When I'm out almost $2000 I think I have a right to be upset.
And I know there are a few people who have had sucess with LE heads (javier for example) and we actually borrow eachothers tools, so I don't have anything against anyone that is running LE heads.

And as far as track times I'm going to a track rental next weekend, but the d/a is going to be 2-3000 feet higher than when I ran with the le heads so I'm not expecting anything spectacular.

Really? Therefore those companies who use a CNC machine should offer lower costs to the consumer? What's your point?
that doesn't mean the port design or shape that the their "master" port is necessarily better.
As already stated it does mean the design is consistent with the master which by that alone means it's a better product as long as the master is an effective design.
Is this one of those "CNC sucks compared to hand porting" arguments?

Its not an argument at all, its the facts. My point was a CNC'd head is only as good as the master port which was clear in my statement. Whats your point or are you just trying to find something to argue about again?

It's not, just to clear that up.

I hope he does well though once he figures out his clutch issues.

In the meantime, I get to keep rippin' on him
