68 lbs fuel pressure! WTF????
I have a Accel electric fuel pressure guage and noticed today, after digging the car out of its winter hibernation, that the fuel pressure is sitting at 68 psi!!
Now I am thinking the regulator isn't working, or I have a plugged return line. Not sure how the line would get plugged from being parked for the winter, but anything is possible I guess.
How can I pinpoint the problem?
Thanks!
Reid

I don't have a vacuum guage, but It6 doesn't6 feel like I have much at the manifold. I unplugged the vacuum line and the pressure jumps to 78 psi, plug it back in and it drops to 66 psi.
I am currently in the process of doing a compression check, and will install sdome new plugs, then go from there.
I'll keep you posted.

Well, I finished the compression check, all cylinders between 180 & 190. Did a complete valve lash, installed new spark plugs, and checked all wiring and vacuum connections. Fired it up and still the same.
I then put the laptop on it, and right bank is pegged at 160 at idle. Cleans up quite a bit when driving, but as soon as I hit idle it pegs at 160 again. Will try a new 02 sensor tomorrow and see if that helps any.
Still have to find another fuel pressure guage to verify if the guage is correct.

Well it turns out that my Y-Pipe was leaking right where it bolts to the passenger side header, thus causing false readings to the 02 sensor and making split BLM's.
As for the fuel pressure, turns out I have a bad sending unit for my Accel fuel pressure guage. I tested it with a mechanical guage, and the fuel pressure is right around the 42 PSI mark.
Just thought I would let you guys know in case anyone was following this thread.
