Reg. or Premium gas??

What are all you guys running? From what I read, the LT1 only calls for 87. Is that true? With gas prices here in Ohio over 2.00 for 87, the premium is getting a little ridiculous. I know some of you are gonna disagree with me on this, but I have NEVER noticed a power increase by using Premium fuel. The only thing I have seen that it helps is pinging. So as of late I try to run 89. let me know what you all run.

Well I suppose you can run regular, but if you hear any knock you should turn it off immediately and get some higher octane in there.

Many people on here have highly modded LT1s so most likely they run premium.

I run 91, because in CA we can't get 93... and its about $2.40 a gallon for 91 right now in town.

False. Read the inside of your gas cap.

I run 93+ only.

It's 2.29 here. My sister is leaving for school next month(), and I'll have her car to drive while she's gone, so I'll be able to pump 87 now.

you wont get full spark advance on 87 or 89, in case of emergency you could run it, but I wouldnt reccomend it. spark knock will destroy a motor.

Well, I think I'll just cut out the 87 all together, and stick with 93 or Al least 89. (When the 93 is too high)

Definitely go with 93 when you have a chance...
anything less and you will have problems IMO

Up in Northern Ontario all I can get is 91 which is about $1 per Liter,,,,,, not per gallon!!!!!! That translates into about $3.75/gallon

Oh well live with I guess,,,,,,

What about octane boost additives, if it says it will raise the octane by say three points is that from 87 to 90 or 87 to 87.3???

Right now it is not economical to use octane boost but it may become so.
