Re: 6 speed to turbo 400 swap

You'll need:
-a flex-plate to replace the flywheel

-a converter of your choice

-the TH400 trans with short tailshaft

-new driveshaft (different slip yoke splines and length)

-shifter, with sheet metal to cover the T56 shifter floor hole (T56 console will work, but you will not have gear position indication)

-stock T56 cross-member can be modified to work with the TH400

-stock trans mount will work, but ES poly recommended.

-VSS and reluctor gear from a mid 90's Chevy truck TH400

-PCM will either have to be reprogrammed with an A4 program with all the 4L60E codes deleted, or you can keep the M6 program, and use a Dakota Digital interface box to correct the auto trans VSS pulses per output shaft revolution to match the T56 pulses per revolution.

-Fan assisted trans cooler

-dipstick. I think Lokar now makes one long enough to get it out from under the cowl.

-remove clutch pedal and weld on a bracket for a wider brake pedal pad

-remove T56 clutch hydraulics and seal opening in firewall

If you have a 10 second car, and have to pass NHRA tech, you will need:

-JW Ultrabell

-trans shield
