Re: 355 build up ?

Never know! If It wasn't C5R it would be All Pros on a 402... I like smaller cubes on street cars though I'd rather have less TQ at low RPM.

T&D is another one, I'm talking with both about selling the rockers. How can a valvetrain guy not sell shaft mounts too! Hell I gotta get Morel, Smith Bro, Manton etc.. as well too.

You really like them more? We are talking the bad *** Jesel vs. the T&D

Interesting.

Re: 355 build up ?

the Ls1's? No I would use them in a heart beat thou

I talked to Bob Williams at All Pro and from our talk and what porters want, they will lay the smack down on ANY LS1 standard head. Not a LS7 or C5R but, the AFR is chicken **** in comparison.

You can put a big valve in them, lots of room in the wall and thru the short turn, they are a awesome LS head.

Yeah, the LS1's.

I was reading a thread over on LS1TECH and Kurt from W2W was saying good things about them. Out of the box...

Pretty nice on the wallet too!

I agree!!

I hear people complaining about the chambers. What seems to be the problem with them?

Re: 355 build up ?

Nothing that I know of, bob will make you a smaller chamber if you want it so all in all they are way better than a AFR but you do pay a little bit more for it.

Re: 355 build up ?

Some people(vendors) were saying that they were going to order quite a few sets, until they saw the chambers, then they cancelled???

Said the don't like the way they look.

Re: 355 build up ?

Probably the price shock, you don't get a huge deal on those things. Bob is doing a revision on the chambers anyways.

Got my C5R's on the way! Still don't know what I'm gonna do with them yet.

Bret,

Thank you.

I don't think the wife would me put those on the suburban, though.

Yep, definitely check into T&D. I've used both Jesel and T&D and one thing I really like about T&D is the fact that they incorporate a spring oiler into their design. On some, the rocker has a small hole that sprays the spring and on others, like the sb2.2, the oilers are plumbed into the rocker stands.

Otherwise you're left plumbing the oilers into the valve covers like I had to do with my Jesel setup. I already had the Jesels for the LT1 build so decided to go ahead and use them but if I had it all to do over again.... T&D.

My new sb2.2 build will have T&D's on it.

edit: Just thought of something.... I'm sitting here looking at the pics of the C5R heads in that display case like women look at jewelry.

Who needs Jared's when you've got stuff like that?

CFE?

Did you read about the recent research on smells, hormones and S.O. ? It's the hot topic on the tube today.

Now what made me think of that?

The engineer I talked with at Jesel a few years ago was a good guy. He admitted that their stuff is kinda (?) pricey for less than a top shelf engine. Some of those high-end companies will put you on with engineers if you seem to know what you are talking about. You need to ask the right questions to find them, however. I've been able to fool a few of them into a good discussion.

Sorry for the booze reference, but I was tasting a fairly new bourbon for Bret's sister. Bulleit, if you are a bourbon guy.
