1997 LT1 Won't start
Hello all, I just finished rebuilding an LT1 motor and installing it back in my 97 camaro. I do not ear my fuel pump kick on when I turn the key to the on position, and I do not hear the starter try to engage when I actually turn the key. I am assuming this if a ground issue. I do have power to the interior of my car since the lights go on though.
The wierd thing that is happening that I am unsure about, is when I turn the key to the on position (trying to prime the fuel pump) it makes a single clunk noise and then nothing else. When I turn the key to start the car, the same clunk happens and then nothing again. I traced the clunk and I could feel that it was coming from my abs module. i put my hand on it and could feel it.
Any ideas what this could be from? Should I be concerned with this after I fix the ground issue. Could the issue be one in the same?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried powering the fuel pump with the fuel pump prime connector?

The ground for the fuel pump is on the chassis at the rear. Power and ground to the signal side of the fuel pump relay need to be checked.
Is the SECURITY light on? That would indicate a problem with the key, theft deterrent module (in the BCM), or the theft deterrent relay for the starter. Even if there is a problem with the PASS-Key (VATS) system, the fuel pump should still prime for two seconds when the key is turned to “run”.
