Yeah you should turn it 6,500+ rpms if it's running right. BTW I ran 7.46@94mph 1/8th mi. last track outing with my 226-234@50 custom cam and Lloyds heads with 3.42's in my auto T/A. I shift at 6600rpms. Good luck.
Yep. All you need is some traction. Although your trap speeds to seem a tad low for your combo, which might only be a tuning issue. I ran an 8.4 @85.6mph 1.9x 60ft back when I first put the heads, hotcam and headers on mine, but that was with the 4L60E and stock TC. I'm almost skeered to go to the track now with the M6 for fear of breaking the rear.

I told you all that when it comes to these cars and modding them, it makes a person unable to think straight at times..
I'm going to get new opti from Jason and install it when the LTs go on. If I still have a miss up top, I'll add a MSD 6A. If the miss continues, I'll sell the B%#CH !!!
