*excellent info* 93 specific info list.
O2 sensors have only one wire and they are not heated. If converting to long tube headers you will have to upgrade to later heated style O2 sensors to keep them hot.
I was planning on getting LTs... is this true? Is there anything else I need to know before I get them?
Awesome thread

Can you correct the speedo gear for 6-speeds by programming the chip?

-All 93 TA's had the GT package with leather & upper level wing
-Never seen a 93 firebird with a black top & a different body color (so the comment above is of camaros only) If the tops were black standard on the camaro, then how about the mirrors?
-The speedo can be corrected for 3.23 and numerically lower gears by modifying the eprom.
-lower amperage alternator with a different "fan" style pulley. This one is off the top of my head so someone correct me if i am wrong here, but 93=124Amp, 94+=140Amp
-Then something about spring & shock difference on the 1LE package.

I think you're wrong about gear correction through the comp, it's done by drve/driven speedo gears in the tail of the tranny.

ok, should have mentioned i was talking about the m6 (m28 & m29)
Check out Tunercat's latest revision, there is a speedo correction included. There are actually 2, one that corrects ecu so it knows what is going on (this can be seen through programs like diacom), and the second one sets the speedometer constant. I have not actually checked how accurate the divisions are, but i KNOW that i can make my speedometer read faster. I just can't make it read slower for numerically higher gears. Must be an overflow. Have not tried it but i think i can correct the speedo for 93 A4's or m28's upgrading to 3.23's with the eprom.
If you don't believe me, ask Ed Wright. He will tell you the same.
btw it is fun to put an A4 eprom in a m6 & watch the speedo freak out.

theres no tunercat that can calibrate the speedometer in 93's. talk to TC@tunercat.com

Here's something specific I just recalled. I have the M29 tranny and I remember that when I replaced the mount the mount actually said M29 on it which is orginially how I found out that my tranny was an M29. My RPO code confirms that I have an M29 as well.
I dont know of this has been mention yet but 93s dont have little light iluminating the switches like 94+ cars do. I want those lights dang it.
edit
Did any one else notice the deal with the valve covers, I need to scan my owners manual in.

burned about 20 eproms in the last week and the data does not make a lot of sense but here is the info to back up what i previously stated. URAPNES just forced me to better document something that I had already done. Will send data to TC to see what they have to say.
M6 stock "Instrument Panel VSS Pulse Divisor" is 96
Divisor rpm gear speedo "rear gear"
96 2000 4th 48 3.23 (factory)
50 2000 4th 57 2.72 (calculated)
Did not say it was usefully, just said it could be done!

I have updated a couple of other things such as: the black top for camaros only, TA's with GT package, and some further info about tuning the eprom for speed.
Can someone help out with this stuff:
Still in question:

Still in question:
- When did the change in wiper size come in to play?
- What are the 93’s front brake differences?
- Do 93’s have “Pink” rods?
- Are the valve springs a different diameter than later model?
- Can you correct the speedo for gearing other than 2.73’s or 3.23’s for 6-speeds by programming the chip?

LOL...'93s faster? I can relate a little to that. Mine runs 12.82 @105.9 MPH. 93,000 miles, exhaust manifolds, stock injectors, stock t-body, and never pulled the valvecovers! Just a little stall converter and a set of 4.10's. The '93s may be a "stand alone" model on several things, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

No. This has been discussed to death and you can only correct the gearing by installing a calibrator into the speedo wiring. No chip programming can do this.
