Which Plugs and Wires??

I need a tune up BAD!! Which plugs and wires should I go with? I have stock now. I'm leaning towards NGK plugs and MSD wires...any comments about these? Also, where is the best place to get them?

What is the measurement on the plug wires for? (8.5) What does the LS1 use?

Thanks

I have MSD Superconductor wires and NGK TR55 plugs. I have had no issues. This is probably the most popular plug wire combination for these cars.

If I were you I would take a look at thunderacing.com and look at their wires for your car. NGK or AC DELCO all the way

You can use your stock wires if they are in good condition like he said. Mine were rotted out and burnt in some spots. The internal wiring does wear out after years due to continuous high voltage so you should check the resitance of one of your wires and compare it to the specs on the internet of wires.

I used tr-55s at .050 and it worked fine but tr-6s will work at the .038 from what i hear. I think the tr-6 is more for nitrous.

Ur sig says minor mods, TR-6's are for non N/A engines.........Nitrous or Supercharger/turbo.

Back to ur thread though, I got the Taylor SpiroPro's with the NGK TR55's. I'm sure most of us on this board who have upgraded plugs went with the NGK TR55's.

For nitrous or forced induction apps. yes.
For NA tr55 gapped at .050 and any quality wire. Even new stock ones are good.

Re: Which Plugs and Wires??

Uh, the "minor mods" is a little deceiving. I have a H/C set-up with a 100shot of spray on top. Stock wires are fine...even with just shy of 600rwhp. Sorry about the confusion...I should have just said "NGK plugs and stock wires."
