Quote: i cant believe what im reading here that a ls1 is a whole second faster than a lt1
LS1's are not a full second faster unless we are comparing an auto LT1 to a well driven M6 LS1. But apples to apples the LS1 is more like .6 quicker in the quarter mile. For example my car when stock ran 13.5 @ 103 the same day my buddies stock 95 Z28 ran 14.1 @ 99. Both were autos with 3.23 gears so it doesn't get any fairer then that.

Quote: come on now i have a lt1 with basic bolt ons and i spank ls1s all day people say ls1s run low 13s stock but the weird is that im in a car club with a bunch of ls1s and they all ran high 13s low 14s what is that about?
It would help to know where you are from. Eleveation and humid weather can play havic on anyones quarter mile times. Denver for example is known for 14 second ls1's. The other factor is the launch. Give any stock ls1 a 2.3 60' and his ET will suck. Give that same car a 2.0 60' and now you're seeing what the car is really capable of.

I have personally been very lucky with decent elevations. I was mid 13's stock, low to mid 12's with bolt on's and mid 11's with cam and intake. I have had no problem with any LT1 that I raced. But then again I have not run one that had more mods then me.

Quote: and most of them are a4 so dont give me any of that driver error bull**** they hate my lt1 i guess its because i can beat there cars that they paid 10k+ and i payed 2k for my slow lt1
You can have driver error in an A4. Some shift themselves and screw it up. You can blow the launch and lose that way. You can forget to turn off traction control. You can also do a burnout in second and forget to put the shifter in D or OD. I've never done any of those

Quote: so i dont know what ls1s and lt1s you all are talking about maybe they are faster where u all live but where im from i havent seen a stock ls1 run a whole second faster than a lt1 i aslo have a cousin with a 01 firehawk that is running a 13.1 with a lid and exhaust and again its a a4 so none of that driver errror nonsense im running 13.00 with a used k&n used headers that i bought for 100 bucks a underdrive pulley and a 2200 stall and free mods he cant beleive that i beat him by a fender not just 0-60 like people are saying we raced to 130mph and he was never gonna pass me i dont know i guess he was just shocked that his car that he payed $20,000 for couldnt beat my old 15 year old car that has 170,000 miles on it i think the only better about his car is the paint job he always says "yeah but whos car looks better" i cant argue with that his car looks alot better but remember i payed $2000 for my car compared to $20,000 its no comparison i dont know if my car is just faster than other lt1s but i just dont think ls1s are worth double or triple the money you would pay for an lt1 but thats just my opinion "The LS1 may have been touched by God, But the devil designed the LT1!"
I might have believed the 13.0 and 13.1 story because of your stall but the 130 mph run is where I know there is some BS here. It's a fact that the LS1 has a better head design and is faster stock for stock and mod for mod especially on the top end.

I don't know why some LT1 guys feel they need to justify what they drive. Just mod up and enjoy what you have. At least it's american muscle and not an import with a fart can

Your whole store is BS, what kind of freak show LT1 do you have that runs a 13 flat with a filter headers and 2200 stall? Take your crap somewhere else, we're alot smarter than that.

Assuming a decent driver:

Most stock LT1s at my local tracks run low 14s, and a few dip in the 13s. Most LS1s run low 13s, and a few flirt with 12s.

There are the of course the ****ty drivers that run high 13s in the LS1 cars, and high 14s in the LT1s.

Why don't you throw some M6 comparison cars up?!?! Anybody with half a brain knows automatics with the STOCK stall (or anything less then 3K on a LS1); are leaving a LOT off the table. 1st mod I did was throw a 3,600rpm "quality" converter into my car. Didn't even bother racing it before that. 1,850 stock stall speed...

Either car can be fast, it just depends how much money you want to throw at it. Stock the LS1 DOES have more power then a LT1. That can't be argued.

I predict thread lockage as soon as Kraest reads this one!
