Retained accessory power problems? shoebox?

Well i woke up to a dead battery this morning when i went out to fire the car up, and the goddamn radio was on

so i think my RAP module is bad.

its really weird.

with the key off, and the doors closed, the RAP will function normally. when the door is opened, it will cut power to the accessories.

~37 seconds after the door is closed, the ****ing power comes on again!!!!! The radio (pioneer) will click on and start playing, windows will be able to go up and down. then if you open the door and shut it, 37 seconds later, it will do the same thing

Is the RAP module bad? Rob, do you have a p/n for it, if so?

Kinda sounds like the RAP is gettting whacked out, doesn't it?

GM PART # 12135089 1994-1995

Maybe you could find someone to temporarily swap with to make sure that is the problem.

fawk, 50 bucks.

weird thing is, it just happened last night. not a day sooner. was in the car last night, shut it off, came out this morning and the radio was on. good thing is was on low volume so the battery wasnt completely drained, but enough not to crank the car.

Rob, could it really be anything else? i mean why does it take 37 seconds everytime? its on some kind of timer like the RAP

Wiring diagram if you want to try to study and figure out what else it might be.

There is a 35 second timer in the RAP, but yours sounds like it is acting in reverse.

35 seconds actually sounds about right. cause something clicks on about 2 sec before the radio comes on, sounds like its a relay under the drivers side dash panel.

Would this RAP MODULE have anything to do with the convertible top not functioning?

Would need some vehicle info to be able to look up correct wiring specs. For a 95, the window circuit breaker powers the top switch and that breaker goes through the RAP module. But, if your windows work, the top should also.

He is apparently having a problem w/ the RAP module. I tried to help him by suggesting he start a new thread, and asking him for more info about the window and radio problems, but I guess he didn’t like my suggestion:
