Battery dying, radio stays on after key is out?
Here is the story...I just got my car out of storage this week. Last year before I put it away I removed the nitrous set-up from the car. After that I noticed that my battery was running dead each day. The radio would stay on after the ignition was turned off, key removed, and door opened. I would shut the radio power off and the battery still went dead. I also noticed the "SECURITY" light on the dash stayed lit. If I don't disconnect the battery it will run dead.
Could a relay take a crap and that is what is causing this? Or could it be me removing wires from the nitrous set-up and there is something not grounding properly?
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Sounds like that relay isn't switching to shut off power when you open the door. Even though you shut the radio off, there would still be power elsewhere, but only for 10 minutes. But if it's not shutting off when you open the door due to a faulty relay, then it probably isn't switching after 10 mintues either, meaning you have accessory power on all the time till the battery is dead. Not good.

yeah mine stays on for only 10 min......but the trick is , if the passenger side door gets opened, the radio shuts off......ive never had a problem......like i said i never questioned it, and my car sits for the winter months...no problems
Its called Retained Accessory Power, I think, your accessories will have power for 10 minutes or until either door is opened. I don't think it should have anything to do with the security light staying on, though. If that light is on constant, I would guess you have a problem with the Pass-key system. It almost sounds like you've jumped some wiring in the ignition circuit and the only thing keeping your car from restarting itself is the absence of the pass-key resistor in the key. That would actually make since, because it would equate to leaving the key in "accessory" overnight and I suppose that could run the battery down.
Get a good wiring diagram for your car, and double check where you removed that nitrous setup.
