obdI or obdII?

obdI or obdII?

I just got a 95 Camaro, 3.4 v6 a4 car. my question is how do I know if its a obdI or obdII ? I have a 96 formula and I know thats a obdII, are the computers different looking? thanks Brian

should be obd1 with obd2 looking connector.. when i had my 95 3.4L m5 car it was that way and i hooked up a obd2 code reader but it wouldnt power on. i ended up using a tech2 to read the codes. which was capable of reading obd1 and 2.

didnt they start switching sometime in 95? is it possible that mine has obdII. cause it does have the same connector as obdII. thanks

look at the emissions label under the hood, it will say obd 1 or obd 2

although, IIRC, the 95 3.4 was obd 1 with the obd 2 connector, and the 95 3.8 was obd 2

3.4s were OBD-I. 3.8s were the only OBD-II in 1995 as Dave says.

It's just the DLC you are seeing that is different. It's the same on the LT1 1995s.

OBD-I reader or scanner with the proper adapter cable for the 16 pin DLC. You could buy one that does OBD-I and II that would take care of both your cars. Get a scanner-they do more.

thanks guys, im kicking myself in the butt, cause I just sold a snap on scanner (solus) a few months ago dirt cheap!
