Fan's arent turning on, any ideas?

i wasnt sure which topic i needed to post this at, so if i put it in the wrong spot im sorry.
but my car runs very hot, every lt1 that i've had as ran hot so i thought it was normal. when im driving it seems to be ok, but when im sitting the temp will get all the way to right before the red and then start to slowly come down, but i still dont here the fans coming on, i changed the thermostat a few months ago, and replaced the radiator with a good low mileaged radiator from a friend, can you guys give me some possibilities of what could be wrong? maybe the temp sensor?

i know with a z28 i used to have, i did so much to try to fix the problem with it getting hot, radiator, theremostat, temp sensor etc, and it just always ran hot, but at least the fans would come on

any help is appreciated
thanks

If the temps are eventually coming down when idling, then the fans must be coming on. If they weren't, the temp would just continue to rise. It would be a good idea to compare the temp your gauge is reading to what the PCM is reading (use a scan tool).
