Burned ground wires on PCM

I have 2 questions. 1. On a 95 LT1 PCM should the case be grounded? 2. Has anyone seen the PCM ground wires burned, example blue connector pin 1.
My symptoms are car won’t start, and I cannot read any codes. Trying to read with Scan94-95, the sync indicator flashes red intermittently. We have been driving the car with the pcm bungee corded in the battery tray for about 2 years. I never saw the original camaro the engine and pcm came out of so I’m not sure if the pcm mount was plastic or steel. Thanks.

Re: Burned ground wires on PCM

PCM case is not grounded. The factory PCM "holster" is plastic.

There are 4 wired grounds:

- Conn A (red), Pin A2, black/white
- Conn A (red), Pin A18, tan/white
- Conn C (gray/clear), Pin C32, black/white
- Conn D (blue), Pin D1, tan/white

Shoebox has the 95 PCM wiring diagrams:

Make sure the DLC wiring is OK - with a 16-pin connector you would replicate the1994 configuration.

Re: Burned ground wires on PCM

Thanks, sorry for the delayed response. I do have the diagrams from when we did the swap. I believe the burned grounds may have been caused by a short of 12v to the PCM case. We have an inline fuse holder for the radiator cooling fan running beside the PCM, the fuse holder was partially melted, and so was replaced the day before the no start condition. I can’t say for sure exactly what happened as I live in Missouri, and my son and his buddies working on the car in California where he is presently stationed. He did say they started replacing the fuse holder without disconnecting the battery and there was a spark.
The PCM is presently being repaired, and we are going to check the connectors as I assume we may need to replace a couple of the sockets. Thanks again.
