racetronix fuel pump

hey guys, fuel pump is only running about 28 to 30 pounds of pressure. I changed the regulator, to no avail. Then checked the send line pressure, and am sure it's the pump. I will probably be doing the access panel method, and was looking at prices for fuel pumps. I found this http://www.racetronix.biz/customkiti...c=RFPK-003&eq= from racetronix for not a lot more money. Just curious is this worth the money? Anyone have experience with it?

The pump and all the crap with it and the wiring harness for $208? not a bad deal really. If you just wanted a walbro 255lph GSS340 they're about $100 on ebay (make sure you get a genuine one, not a chinamanese knockoff).

I have that pump and plug-b-play kit that I'm about to put in, I was gonna take out the rear end and drop the tank but what the hell is the access panel method

That is a decent price, however, be aware that Racetronix prefers to be a wholesaler, not a retailer. Notice there is no phone number given. Do yourself a favor and purchase from a dealer who will give you quick phone support if you run into problems.
Also, I installed my first 255 lph pump w/o the hotwire kit. It ended up overheating and going bad. When I researched it, I discovered that the factory wiring harness is barely marginal for the current draw of the stock pump. For a 255 lph it is woefully inadequate. You need a 12 gauge power wire at a minimum; 10 gauge is preferred. Also, it should have a good relay to handle the added current. Both Jasper and Racetronix offer such a kit.

Re: racetronix fuel pump

Importkiller94.......It's just a method where you cut a hole in the trunk to access the top of the fuel pump. It takes less time, and is simpler in most cases. Draw backs are that if you use a cutting wheel you are putting sparks right over your gas, and also some would say that It weakens the support of the car. A properly installed patch panel should give you almost as much as stability as factory though.

So would I be better off getting one of ebay or somewhere then running my own lines? Do you prefer the jasper kit or is it the same kit? Anywhere else you have seen?

Re: racetronix fuel pump

ok, so i just looked at the walbro pumps, and think I'll buy the pump and wire it myself. I was wondering if anyone has a wiring schematic or something that I could look at to see what wires need to be ten gauge?
