Fuel pump Relay

Hey guys,on March 7 last month I purchased a fuel pump relay because the relay went out on me,yesterday I drove the car for 20 minutes then stopped at a store then housefor about 4 hours.then when i left i tried starting the car it wouldnt fired up it just turned over. Since it was dark i left the car there, then today i checked the fuel pump relay it was bad the fuse had a rust color and smelled burned.the inside of the relay looked like it got wet.

Now what causes a fuel pump relay to burn out. I purchased the relay at autozone thank u everybody for any info.

Re: Fuel pump Relay

The relay should not be getting wet. Moisture + electricity = failure.

Re: Fuel pump Relay

What did you find out? I too have a 94Z and currently have the same exact problem. Where could the water be coming from? I had to replace my floorpan when I bought it and now see I haven't fixed the problem. Also my relay is rusty and I can't get her to start either
