intermittent problem??

I have an 86 with a newer 350 roller rocker holly carb.. and at times it will not start, then other times it will quit just going down the road.. This morning it died on my son a couple blocks from home.. Turns over fine, battery is new,, so I figured it has to be ignition or fuel.. pulled the air cleaner and sprayed some starter fluid and it fired right up, stalled again and wouldn't start, sprayed some more fluid and fired again then stalled. So it is not an ignition issue, must be fuel

pushed it home figuring I would pull the hose between the filter and fuel regulator to see if one or the other was clogged. By the time I got around to it, the car started right up and ran fine the rest of the day.
It seems like it only happens when it is raining or late or early in the day when it is real humid and there is dew forming.. Maybe this is just coincidence, as I cannot think of any reason it being humid would affect fuel flow.

It has an electric fuel pump mounted back at the gas tank (not in it) a fuel regulator (cheap Mr Gasket adjustable) and a fuel filter with return line outlet. I just put some Seafoam in it in case it is something in the gas..

Engine was rebuilt 1000 miles ago and up until just the last two weeks it has been running fine.
Any Ideas?

What you appear to have discovered, to your displeasure, is that there are not many 3rd Gen owners here, and even fewer people who drive cars with carbs. Hence, no responses even after 33 reads.

Did you try posting this on "3rd Gen...... Engine Tech". I can move the thread there if you want.

Thanks, but not necessary, just found the problem,, bad oil pressure sensor on the ground wire to the fuel pump relay.

I actually bought this car from a member (or former member) here back in 04.
