Fuel pump

When you get heads and a cam do you need to upgrade the fuel pump?
The reason im asking is because my car drops pressure when you turn the key and we traced it to the fuel pump. My instructor said its the fuel pump assembly module, and im getting heads and a cam in a few months would i be able to use a stock fuel pump.

you could most likely get away with a stock pump, alot of people do. but keep in mind that you could be starving the system at high rpm's - a recipe for quick disaster.

a 255 kit is fairly cheap, and if you are replacing the pump i dont even know why you would be considering a stock unit. when i say cheap i mean relative to your head cam setup, and replacing the entire motor because it leaned out up top

the whole kit from racetronix is listed for 220 from thunder right here

what about the assembly that surrounds the fuel pump i guess its the check valve???

If you get the correct pump, it will fit in the stock bucket. It's essential that you reuse the bucket. The Racetronix website has some good info:
