To me, the allure of running cogs is the lack of belt tension needed. That in and of itself will be easier on parts, the crank snout, the idler bearing, blower shaft and blower bearings. The difficulty comes in how to handle the throttle blade being slammed shut. I was told to run two blowoff valves and that would be more than enough to protect the blower and the belt.

For the tension you could use a torsion bar between the crank and supercharger.
