Stutter issue

I have an sts turbo that has been on the car for about a year and a half. Recently, the oil pump went haywire, so I sent it to them and got it back and put it on after sitting for about a month. I test drove the car last night and it boosted like normal, then I took it to lunch today and when I would give it mild acceleration, it would get to about 3000-3200 rpms and choke to the point i had to let off the gas. When I got home I noticed i made the stupid mistake of not making sure the intake pipe was all the way tight to the intake side of the turbo. Got that tightened down and took it to the store. It did the same thing on the way to the store, but when I was on the way home I accelerated hard to almost 4000 with 3 psi of boost and no choke. Any ideas what to check. When I first got the turbo, my intake pipe which had the maf attached would seperate and it caused kind of the same issue but to a more extreme degree as you can imagine.

Just looking for things to check. Thanks.

How much boost are you normally making?

Pull the filter off and see how the bearings feel. If the shaft has very much play in it at all you could have cooked the bearings when the oil pump died.

Well sts rebuilt the filter for me, so I am assuming it is okay, besides, that should not have anything to do with engine stutter at acceleration. The turbo is spinning, just seems like air is being restricted or I am have an emissions system issue as far as reading the air coming into the engine and the computer is stalling the engine.

Did I say check your filter bearings? Check the bearings on the turbo. If it didn't have oil and is now dragging it could affect the way everything feels.

And you didn't answer my boost question either.

Well, when the oil was not pumping, it was not pumping out of the turbo, so the turbo was over oiled. When I had the problem, I never got much past idle because I noticed it and pulled it back into the garage.

One thing I did was tap into a line for the bov. There are a couple smaller lines that go into the manifold next the the brake booster that had a vacuum. I used one of those for the bov instead of the brake booster line. Is that okay, or could that be a problem as it starts to boost.
