trans coller install ideas

im getting ready to install my b&m trans cooler today and came across an install that mounted the cooler horizontally under the bumper vs. vertical on the rad here is the pic do you think this will cool as well, maybe put a metal scoop under it to force air up into it. i liked it because it doesnt impede the airflow into the rad.

Re: trans coller install ideas

I have my Perma Cool trans cooler mounted in that spot, but on the driver's side. But it has a 9" fan on top of it, to provide air flow. I don't think you will get much air flow without the fan.

I mounted my cooler (28K B&M) to my radiator. The next cooler I had was installed my Speed Inc and they mounted it right above the air dam (drilled holes in the metal piece) and drilled two holes in the dam for the hoses. Both worked just fine, but the 2nd one is easier to install/access. There was no change in engine running temperature in either case.
