Exclamation Name that noise! quickly please?

I hear this rattle through all gears and gets louder and faster, the faster i go. Now when i'm at a stop i can still hear it, but when i push on the clutch, the noise goes away. I can feel a slight vibration in the shifter and in the clutch pedal when it makes the noise as well. Please help me figure this out and if I need to get it fixed asap.

Re: Name that noise! quickly please?

its your release bearing. when you drive you car do you hold the clutch down at light if yes that usually shortens the life of the bearing and weekens the preasure plate
i hoped i helped

well the clutch also has 116,xxx miles on it, so something is bound to go bad at some point soon. Is the release bearing the same as the throw out bearing? Basically shuld I replace the whole clutch or just the bearing and preasure plate?

so it could be the pilot, release, or throw out bearing? what's the difference between all three...I just need to know what parts to get because if I just need to replace the clutch i can get a good deal on labor price...i know i can't do it myself.

Re: Name that noise! quickly please?

just replace the clutch....whole thing. Pilot, Throw-out, disc, and pressure plate. also have the flywheel machined. After that you'll be good to go....If you're planning on going bigger in the hp Dept. Now is a good time to get rid of a weak link.

Re: Name that noise! quickly please?

i guess that would be my next question to ask then...i'm in the middle of putting headers on(hit a snag at this point and having trouble) and planning on going with a 224/230 cam on a 114lsa (easier to pass emissions around here) would just a spec stage 2 handle that? or how about just the slp...how much can it hold? on some what of a budget
How do the ram clutches hold up?
