Finally: Dyno numbers, but somethings not right

The car weights 36xx with driver
best motor 7.29@93-94
best N2O 6.600@105

Car dyno'd
362HP 495TQ rear wheel MOTOR

506HP 594TQ rear wheel N2O

The torque was more than I expected but the Motor HP seems to be way off, the wide band O2 showed I was way rich but I had no jets to rejet the carb with. Could this rich condition be killing the power that much? I have a friend who got 58rwhp from jetting (he was way rich also). Also Ive seen build ups using the same CID and the same heads, but with less comp., less cam make 515hp(crank) What am I missing?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated

I know a local guy who runs 11's @ 116 MPH in an N/A Trans AM LT1 car with a heads/cam package/converter/slicks/weight reduction/4.56 gears...

Bottom line, his car dyno'd 290 at the wheels and honestly, the car should probably be in the 390+ range i'm thinking! Hell, a BONE stock LS1 would dyno 300-310HP on the same dyno!

This is why a dyno is used for tuning only really i guess. \

Either way you're car does haul serious Booty

The dyno will brake your heart man. Trust me.

When my car ran 7.70s@88mph in the eigth and 12.30s at around 108mph it only dynoed 275.5rwhp. My car still has everything from the factory on it, except smog pump, and the runs were made with over a half tank of gas. I would guess my car weighs around 3300lbs with me in it. I do have alum. heads and alum. driveshaft so I have saved some weight their. The curb weight rating of my car is 3105-3150lbs.

Dyno is good for getting your a/f ratio right with nitrous cars and forced induction cars.

What is the motor and the mods IROC?

That is a nice car. Drop some weight off the car and the 5.90s should come a little easier.

Motor:
406 Dart alum. head, comp solid roller, 10.25comp ratio, 950cfm Holley HP carb

Mods:
TH350 TCI 4000 conv., alum driveshaft from 89 GTA, Moser 9in. 3.73's

Susp:
I'm not sure if its considered stock suspention car because I still have the torque arm, no 4 link , but I do have 90/10's up front, 50/50's rear, and Lakewood traction action bars modified to work with the 9in's big 3in. axel tubes

What brand of dyno are we talking about here, Dynojet or Mustang?

I myself was expecting 390-400 rwhp when I first went to the dyno. I have 359/450 and run the times in the sig. But I have a high stall so that accounts for some of it. You have an M6 if I read correctly. That would concern me.

CANTONRACER- I have heard that a spool will account for some horsepower loss to. Have you heard this?

When I ran 12.30s-12.40s@~108 I made 275.5 hp on a dynojet dyno(SAE hp) I have a spool and was told that they kills some horsepower in itself.

CANTONRACER, I have a 00' SS M6 and a 86 Iroc with a TH350, I had mods for the SS listed seperating the two but recent sig lenght post's promped me to delete most of it sorry for the confusion, look at a couple posts up I also have a high stall, i was hoping this was also accounting for some loss
