First times with Hotcam

Well I went to a 1/4 mile track for the first time today and man was it a blast, 100 times better than our local 1/8th. We had a corvette function that was renting out gainsville and they were kind enough to let a few non-vettes join in on the fun, looked to be about 30 vettes there... Z06's, ZR1's, it was a beutiful site.

This is my best run.

60' 2.064
330' 5.656
1/8 8.578
MPH 85.07
1000' NA
1/4 13.195
MPH 106.48

Beat a bolt-on C5 and a C4 , both were trapping very close to me so they were good runs. Then I got spanked by a supercharged C5 trapping 122, then by another C5 trapping 118, didn't pay attention if it was a Z06 or not, prolly was

Was trapping 106.5 uncapped everytime except for one run that I went 107, decided to see what the car would do with the cutout closed for a couple runs through the stock mufflers with no cat. Trapped 104.6 and 105.5, so the cutout bought me 1 to 2mph

Launching with DR's @ 20psi

Looks good! How crazy are you getting with the launches? You doin' the famous 5 grand clutch dump or is it a mild 2-3grand clutch dump? In that pic, it looks like it's transfering weight nicely for sure. A little stickier track and you'll have 12's for sure next time out!

I was dropping the clutch at 2500-2800 and keeping the revs there untill the tires gripped, had to almost floor it to do that though because the tires were gripping so hard

At the local 1/8th track here if I so much as LOOK at the throttle as the tires are spinning the revs just skyrocket...

Good thing I got that rearend girdle in before I went to the track

It sounds like you could have been well into the 12's if you got little wilder with the clutch dump rpm Possibly a solid 4000 rpm clutch dump? he he he Goodluck next time out!

That's kind of a mystery, I bought the car with 100k miles on it bone stock. The past owner said the tranny went out on him at 70k so he bought a new one, I never asked if he got a new clutch and if he did, was it an aftermarket one or not...

The clutch felt real strong and there was no signs of slipping through 7 passes in 3 hours of running...

Dump it higher, dump it higher!!! You'll be in the 12s easily with some better 60' times.
