This app is only for the 94/95 LT1 F-cars although some parts will work on a B-car (LT1) or even a Y-car (Corvette LT1). It is for OBD1 only. The 96 and later F-cars are OBD2 and are completely different. Any cheap OBD2 code reader can be used on those cars to retrieve and reset trouble codes.

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

Hey, I've just bought a cord, now I regret it seeing as how simple they are to actually make, might have to return it.. but anyways, back to my question, do I need the files under FTDI Drivers for Cable folder? If so, where do I put them? All I have on my Computer now is the actual program with the three files that came with it, including the program. Sorry if you have addressed this already, I couldnt seem to find the answer, thanks for your great help already.

See post #13 about installing the drivers. There is a version of the drivers in the folder you mentioned. However, if your pc is internet-connected, it may download the latest ones by itself automatically, depending on your setup. The driver download/install starts when you plug the cable into the pc. You can check the status of the drivers by following this path: Start ---> Control Panel--> Device Manager ---> Ports (and USB Converter). Your driver dates should be newer than the ones shown in this screenshot.

Thanks again Gary for the generous effort in maintaining this program, and helping people work through their problems.

Alright, so you said the driver were already with the program .zip file? I knew that it would install automatically, didn't know if it would actually find them or not. I have the Program, instuctions and The MALF. Like he said, thanks so much for all the help and the development of this tool, you're awesome.

The driver files I provide are in the Mediafire site download area in the folder you mentioned (FTDI Drivers for Cable folder), not in the zip file. They are placed there in case you are unsuccessful in getting the ones from either Microsoft or FTDI. There is also a more complete user guide on that site.

With a manual transmission, all sections will work except for the Transmission scan and tab display. Those are for automatic only. There are actually very few useful parameters for the manual transmission anyway.

Gary,

Do you have, or can you direct me to, a tutorial on how to read/ decipher a data log?

BTW - Thank you for this SW tool. I was able to fix a couple of DTC problems, now I am trying to chase down a problem with running rich under load.

Thanks again

Sorry, I can't. I am no engine expert, not even a real computer programming expert. But, I am sure Fred (Injuneer) has some sources and probably has written one or two.

If you can upload the .csv file to an FTP site and post the link, I'll take a look at it and see if there are any problems. If you can't upload it, send it to my e-mail as an attachment, and show your screen name and "data log" in the topic.

I also have a 25+ page writeup ( .pdf ) that will help you decipher the data, but it will be better if you can post the data log.

So I have the cord connected and the program scanning, but it's not picking up any codes and my SES light is on, do you recommend anything?

Here is my CSV file is that helps.

Do you have both the engine and transmission scan buttons selected (green)?

Do you see numbers in the engine and transmission tab grids while scanning?

If there are any engine trouble codes, they will appear at the end of each line of the csv file.
