What is "it" that wouldn't let you download? Your browser, or antivirus, or..? I just download it in under 10 seconds. Make sure you are not trying to download an entire folder. You want the zip file. Also, your security may be blocking it because it isn't signed or because there aren't enough users yet. Norton can do that. Disable it temporarily if that is the case until you are done.

I have a 96 Impala SS as my daily driver. I spent years frustrated with trying to get Datamaster to see cables I used, their support, then I got referred to you by one of the guys from the Impala forum. I tried to make the cable you recommended but even though your program saw it it would not collect data. I made a cable another guy recommended. I soldered ground and data wires to a mini FTDI USB chip and I just plug them in my OBDII (ground in plug 5 and data in 9) and your program started collecting data.
Thanks.
Now I just need to interpret the data

Upload the .csv file to an FTP site, and post the link here. I'll download and review it for you. You will need to describe in detail any modifications to the engine, and any specific problems you have observed in the post with the link.

Unless you are using a purchased cable that is using a genuine FTDI chip (hard to tell if it is), you need to be aware that FTDI has a "kill" driver out there that will disable any fake chips (most of the cheap ones are). You would need to take steps to prevent that by turning off automatic driver updates on the pc. Once the new driver runs, it will semi-permanently disable the chip and it will take special techniques to recover it. The older FTDI drivers in the folder where Scan9495 exists are safe to use.

Does my cable need to be connected to my pc when installing the drivers?

Yes, turn off automatic updates before installing or plugging in the cable. The downside is that the pc will not automatically download drivers for new devices that it does not already have. Windows will let you know if it could not install a driver. Then you can do a search for new drivers for that device.
The cable does not have to be connected in order to install drivers with an installer built-in (an exe file). It must be connected to install drivers that are not in exe format. My web storage area where scan9495 resides has both types.

Any cable purchased complete will not require any work other then installing drivers. Only the ones you make from the parts made in China or elsewhere require splicing. ALDLcable.com and Red Devil River are two that are ready to use.

Forgot to tell ya Injuneer, car has 26lbs Accel injectors and is occasionally keeps coming up with code 32 EGR failure. No other mods to engine. Not running quite as good as she used too. Thanks again.
