Go to http://www.gm.com/gmcomjsp/contactus/email.html and check off the "I am a current owner and have a question, concern or comment" box (it's the very 1st one). Hit "submit" at the bottom of the page, and fill out the information along with your message (limit's about 400 words, so no term papers please).
Request to have your message forwarded to Product Chairman Bob Lutz. Briefly tell what the Camaro name means to you.
DON'T USE PROFANITY, OR THREATS!!!
The idea is to convince, not terrorize.
If you are going to say that you will never buy another GM product (or will refuse to buy a V8 2+2 that isn't called Camaro), be certain to point out that Ford displays respect for historic names like Thunderbird and Mustang, and you would be very dissappointed if GM didn't do the same for Camaro.
This isn't going to work unless there's critical mass behind this, so don't just say you support the idea, just do it!!!
DO NOT send it to anyone's private or GM e-mail address. Not only is it rude & counterproductive (meaning it could backfire something fierce) but if there is a sudden flood of email to GM's consumer relations site (instead of someone's e-mail), not only will it create a buzz throughout, but also word will get up through the chain, and alot will end up read by higher ups.
This is the tactic used to save the Mustang back in the 80s.
Remember, you are advocating the Camaro NAME, so don't sweat them over the car.
What? You're still here???

Re: So you want to save the Camaro name???
Got'er done. This is what I wrote.
Please bring the Camaro back. I know the Firebird won't make cause of the GTO (not to say that you could make the GTO more like Poniac "Corvette"). Little hint. The GM product line is geting boring. Too many trucks, suv's and cars that haven't any flare. I guess that limits me to used cars now. I will not drive anything unless it has a V8 and is low and unique looking. The F-bodys were all that and more. The Corvette is great, but not in my price range. Next time you decide to do something like this ask the people that made you who you are. The current and past owners of your product. Only then will you know what you are made of.

Re: So you want to save the Camaro name???
Hey guys,
I also did my part few months back. Don't have time to look for "send paper" notices (it is almost 7pm and I am still at work, this is my break), so if someone could repost them, that would be awesome.
In the mean time here's the thing. I have a relative who works in an engineering management position at GM. Last time he visited us, I told what a jerks all of them are and asked if there was any word. He said he didn't know anything about it and of course not his department...
So this weekend we came back from their house and I asked the same question. He told me they were rumors among the engineers that it would come back, but only the camaro, not the bird, since Pontiac has GTO now (IMHO, I probably wouldn't have anything against GTO, but just because of the fact that it replaced 2 great cars, I hate it on those basis).
I say let's do what we've been doing. Spread the word, and if they want things on paper, let's send everything we've got. Hopefully, spam filters will not be able to filter out snail-mail as easily.

Re: So you want to save the Camaro name???
DONE
I am a proud owner of a 1995 Camaro Z28. I dragrace at a local track every once in a while (13.07@108mph). I think its funny that my 95 camaro will beat thoes 2005 mustangs. To me the Camaro was GM's way of showing Ford that GM was on top. There are tons of people including me wanting a new camaro. I am 19 years old and by the time I am 23 or so I plan on buying another new car. I just hope it can be a Brand new Camaro SS. Please bring it back! But not like the GTO(family guy appeal), It should be sleek and agressive looking like they have alwayse been. Its dissapointing to see that Ford is keeping respect for muscle car names such as Mustang, and Thunderbird. I just wish GM would have the same idea and kep the Camaro name.
Thanks for your time.

Re: So you want to save the Camaro name???
I learned an interesting tidbit of info yesterday...VERY good news. I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday, whose wife's cousin works for a Tier 1 supplier of GM. They have started production on one of the components for the Camaro! He has seen photos of the pre-production Camaro and it is styled after the '69 Camaro (yes!). He believes it may even come out as a late 2006 model year release.
I've heard rumors before about the Camaro's return, but nothing this solid. Of course, this is still "hearsay", but I consider it a very reliable source.
Now I've just got to figure out how I can afford one...

Re: So you want to save the Camaro name???
the guy is partly right. There was a camaro planned to return for 2007. Then with all financial stuff GM was (still is) facing, they canceled the Zeta platform which was going to be the camaro and 3-4 other performance cars.
I heard the news of camaro being brought back from my uncle who is mechanical engineer/manager somewhere in GM and then I've read one of car magazines (either carcraft or hotrod) when they reported that GM announced to cancel the car.
They also reported that Lutz has been removed from his position, whether that's good or bad.
