Although it isn't going to be Kappa (no Solstice-like chassis), it's a low cost structure that's going to be Torana sized and will not be based in any way on the VE chassis. I don't currently know any details outside of it's going to spawn quite a few cars, and that at least some will be shared between Pontiac & Holden, and for Pontiac fans (just like I hinted some time ago) this structure is your best bet for a new Firebird, not a reskinned Camaro.

Pontiac getting the Commodore still seems a certainty (we'll find out if I'm wrong soon enough ), and it seems likely someone is going to get a "large" coupe (I still say it's the GTO, but again we'll see if I'm wrong soon enough), however, this new structure that Charlie has been talking about and that Lutz is hinting at is going to be the core of future Pontiacs.

The Commodore seems like it's going to be Grand Prix's successor, but the G6 seems like it's going to be replaced with this new small RWD structure (once it's life cycle is over) and there's going to be more than a couple of other variations beyond a sedan.

As for my Wilmington comment, that's pure speculation on my part.

We're about 90+% on the same page Charlie.
So is it called Digamma? does it share anything with Gamma? Is it similar in size or is it larger?

Here's the drill:

First, I post something here and am accused of being full of BS, clubbing baby seals and wearing white shoes before Easter.

Then..... other sites start to pickup on comments I post here.

Then.....in 3 months, it's in magazine print.

the only people who call BS are the stupid and the ignorant.

and by the time the magazines get a hold of it, it's already been confirmed for months.

so, uh, any more info on this platform?

Except those "other sites" will generally spell out what's happening in plain English, not cloaked in obscure clues, hints, innuendo, and winkies. In this case the GMI article is pretty upfront about exactly what they think is going to happen to each Pontiac model and its replacement. I don't recall such a detailed analysis occurring here. And then there's no berating of the masses for not 'getting it' afterwards.

This isn't intended as a flame because I understand you have to be careful about what you say. Just don't be upset when someone does a better job of disseminating the information.

Okay, that's fair.

I sent Charlie a PM telling him I had nothing to do with that article as soon as I saw it was up. Matter of fact the people who wrote it, do not even come here. If I wanted to use something posted here, I ask first...just ask Guy.

Honestly, do you think I would come here and bash an idea, and then turn around and write an article about it? I could have written an article about it 6 months ago when Charlie bought up the 4 cylinder Firebird if I were gonna do it that way.

Since we are on the subject...I don't think it is fair for someone to beat around the bush with obscure connect the dots rumors, and act like they don't want credit for anything they say because someone will get in trouble. Then in the same breath act slighted when the news actually does break from other sources because they posted first about it. I mean it would be like me hinting there will be a C7 Corvette...then anytime it comes up in the news being like...see...see...I knew I was right.

I am not one to run my flag up a pole, but if we want to get picky, I can pull out my magazine article C&D ran right months after Torana came out that quoted a GMI article about there being a small RWD Pontiac. This is an idea that has been studied for a long time, but Lori Queen was a roadblock. Looks like it is approved anyway now. So who knew first now?

In the end we are just rehashing the same rumors it seems anyway.

Hey, everything is cool guys. I posted the post that R377 quoted, in good humor. Maybe it was misinterpreted.

And Branden, thanks for that PM BTW, it shows me that you're a stand up guy.

But like I said, all is cool.
