The new camaro... again
Re: The new camaro... again
If it is two bow ties, I would say one is a pony car, and the second....
Hmmm...
How extensive is the malibu face lift? I would like the name Malibu to stay. If it is two, it should be Pony car then shortly after rwd malibu.

Yes
Edit: Do you mean completely new names for a Chevy or a "new" name people havn't been throwing around in a while?
Didn't GM register the name Del Ray not to long ago?

Can you imagine if one company was able to launch the 300 and Mustang at the same time? A bold G8 and a hot Camaro.
I guess a boy can wish.

second: you get the Camaro out first so that you can advertise the camaro being on a new sporty chassis. the next year you advertise the sedan as being on the same shassis as a sports car (and go for the sport sedan segment)
flip that the other way around, what do you get? a nothing special rwd sedan platform that the next year you have to say you put a sports car on a sedans platform.

GM just spent alot of money redoing the Impala, so it's probally safe to say that there will not be any new RWD sedan sold at Chevrolet that will compete with the Impala.
So the next question is where is the gap in GM's product lines regarding a sedan, or where can GM plug in a RWD replacement for a car due to be changed by 2008.
GM needs a credible police car and an affordable large car. GM also will need to replace the Grand Prix within a few years. Therefore, one can assume that Grand Prix will be RWD well before Impala will (if ever). One can also assume that Chevrolet would be the division chosen for affordable large cars and police fleet vehicles.
Again, this is just guesswork on my part.

Caprice?
Does chevy really have a hole in thier sedan line-up, other than the RWD thing? The Impala is pretty big so does Chevy need or want a car bigger than that?

2008 or 2009 Camaro? Later?
Whenever it happens, it will be followed by a ton of "see, I told you so!" comments from folks that didn't really tell us much of anything (perhaps so that they could say "I told you so" when "so" actually happens).
No personal offense towards anyone.

Re: The new camaro... again
I can't possibly see Pontiac's largest mainstream car being a G6...that makes no sense. That would leave Pontiac with ONE four door sedan, seeing as how the Sunfire replacement appears DOA. I could stomach Bonnie going bye bye, but GP? If the new one wasn't so damn controversial, it'd sell as well as the old one.
Pontiac needs a Maxima fighter. G6 is too small. I'm praying with the G8 comment, guion knows something we don't

Yeah and with GM's restructuring of Brands I thought Pontiac was going to be more of a niche brand.
I'm surprised no one has said anything about Buick yet.
