The key...I suppose....is choosing dark colors and avoiding horizontal stripes. It worked for Roseanne....didn't it?

I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm going to go out on a limb (based solely on Roseanne's bombshell appearance ) and guess that is meant as a rhetorical question?

What about the Saturn Curve concept car that was built with a back seat on the kappa platform with a lengthened wheelbase. The concept didnt have a v8 though.

To be frank, the Mustang has no direct competition now, so even those pony car enthusiasts who would prefer a tighter package and a better suspension have no alternative. No one is advocating a Miata-sized Camaro!!! But it's important (IMHO) to understand that there is a real opportunity to package a pony car better than Ford has, with less chunky characteristics...heck there's an opportunity to make a better pony car, period, and Chevy must do that...but again we ain't talking about a car that's 170 inches long here....
Thank you. I was about to respond with something similar. You saved we the trouble. I agree completely.

A more fuel efficent, more space efficent, differently designed 'copy' may not take all of Mustang's sales but it will give people a choice.

A smaller, lighter, better handling car that is even more fuel efficient will also give people a choice. The choice in this case amounts to more than just styling, however.

REALLY???? Who told you that?

(OK.....got the gasoline........now where's the match........)

to my esteemed friend in the windy city.....laser-like vision is one thing when you're talking $40K+++.....another thing entirely when you're talking affordable performance. Don't forget where I've worked.

As to some of the other comments........

This is just amazing.......no one has seen the car and already it's DOA...........

There's nothing wrong with passion.......and yes, we value your opinions.....but once again.....look where this thread has gone........Rand McNally himself couldn't find his way out of this entanglement!

Calm down!

You're getting your blood pressure up for nothing right now.......TRUST ME ON THIS.........(more about that later........a few months from now)

I know most of you are passionate about Camaro and Firebird.......and I share that passion. I can tell you that when and if a car is made with the Camaro nameplate on it, (and I see the nameplate as 'hallowed' by the way......) you can be sure that there are custodians that want this car to be something we can ALL be proud of.

Well, like I said before, Hill may not be a friend to the Camaro (IMHO), but boy he sure seems very focused and detail oriented on Corvette. I hope the guy that WE get is just as big of a ball buster.

Exactly, it's the details that are going to separate the next Camaro from the Mustang. We all know the basics will be down cold...available V8, RWD, decent handling, in a coupe package...but it's those little things that separate a crude rocket (4th Gen) from a desireable rocket.

Red, please don't misunderstand me, personally I do have faith that Chevy "gets it" with regards to the next Camaro. I have never declared anything DOA. I'd just like anyone who'll listen to know where I'm coming from.

Wow! What a way to spend a lunch hour and a half. Interesting stuff! For the record I think I'm most pleased with Z284evers' vision for the 5th gen

My fear is that by building a "mainstream" aka "Mustang" Camaro intended to be more appealing to the "common" man and woman will bring us a car that will be hard pressed to run with the 4th gen SS at Spring Mountain. That's why the convertible gets the replacement nod over the 1LE.
